Make Your Requests

The plaque in our convention center room read, “For your Convenience, Dial 88 for any Guest Requests.” The second day of our stay, our bathtub drain was clogged, so I dialed 88. A cheerful voice answered, “We’ll get someone to fix that. I’m so sorry for the inconvenience. Is there anything else I can do for you?” A plumber rushed to our room and unclogged the drain.
I learned something about prayer that day.
Now, when I present my requests to God, I imagine Him saying, “I can fix that. I’m sad about your pain. Is there anything else you I can do for you?” The difference with God is that He isn’t just doing his job. He’s my Father who loves me.
