Praying Wisdom for Others

I asked about his job. I learned his project partner, an expert engineer, was quick to criticize, often tense and angry. My friend was discouraged, afraid that he might ruin God’s reputation, and his own, by responding in anger.

I said, “Pray for wisdom. God gives it.”

He said, “He’ll never change. It’s hopeless. ”

I remembered Paul prayed wisdom for others. We ask God to give you . . . spiritual wisdom and understanding (Colossians 1:9).

I prayed fervently for 3 days. On the 4th day, my prayer was answered.

Here’s his story: I was ready to explode at my partner, when the thought crossed my mind that I should ask him to mentor me. Now, instead of criticizing everything I do, he’s teaching me. I’m learning, and I love my job again.

God gives wisdom when we pray.
