Prayer’s Influence

Twenty-nine years ago today our firstborn son was born with a Strep B blood infection. I cried for a whole afternoon. People everywhere prayed.

Our pastor visited us in the hospital and because he was older and wiser, he saw our son not just as a baby boy, but as the man he could become. He encouraged me to remind him often that he had been spared for a purpose, that God had a plan for his life.

I did that. I still do.

What began as a prayer for healing became prayer that set the course for his life.
