Sometimes God wants more than prayer

Our pastor encouraged us to read Bible with someone who doesn’t yet know the Lord. I could not get my friend out of my mind. I have been praying for her salvation for 2 years.

I asked God to make our paths cross if this was His idea. A few days later, I encountered her on the sidewalk. She said she’d love to visit with me. We didn’t pick a time, but I noticed God had answered my prayer.

A few days after that, the elevator I was riding stopped on the 7th floor. When she stepped in, I knew what God wanted. (Our building has 40 floors, and almost 500 units, so seeing her was not coincidental.)

The very next afternoon, we sat together, reading the Bible.

I believe God will answer my prayers. Faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ (Romans 10:17).

Because Suffering People Prayed

Seized, dragged, attacked, stripped, beaten with rods, inflicted with many blows, thrown into prison, their feet fastened in stocks; all because they proclaimed salvation.

Their response? About midnight Paul and Silas prayed and sang hymns to God.

Then what? God intervened and the jailer and all his house believed in the Lord Jesus (read the story in Acts 16:16-34).

The next family could be yours.
